As her name suggests, she is extremely shy, so much so, that she was unable to have a natural conversation the first time she met Twilight Sparkle. Her shyness, however, is mostly limited to other ponies and she is much more comfortable talking to non-pony animals. Besides her timidity, she is sensitive and has a low opinion of her own abilities. The fun loving Pinkie Pie refrains from playing pranks on Fluttershy because she feels that Fluttershy may be hurt by her jokes. She is a kind and gentle pegasus who gets along well with others and the animals she often communicates with. She gets along with both small and cute animals as well as big and intimidating ones. Despite how meek she seems to be, she is intimidating when pushed to her limits. When sufficiently angered, she is capable of talking down creatures that are much bigger and stronger than she is. She is a very compassionate pony and even when upset, generally does not resort to violence. She is often regarded as being very adorable and moe by both fans and characters in-universe; Photo Finish turns Fluttershy into a successful supermodel by capitalizing on Fluttershy's moe attributes.
